Essential Software & Regulatory Health Disclaimer (SaMD Class II Immunity)
Unitrition is a consumer digital software utility for food composition calculations, mathematical carbohydrate ratio conversions (Bread Units / ХЕ), and whole-food nutritional modeling based on verified open databases (USDA, CIQUAL, Open Food Facts). Unitrition is explicitly NOT a Medical Device (SaMD Class II), does NOT provide clinical diagnostic advice, does NOT prescribe medications, clinical therapies or physiological dosages, and does NOT offer weight-loss or body sculpting guarantees. Use of the software is strictly educational and for general nutritional self-management.
1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility
By accessing, browsing, or using the Unitrition web application (collectively, "the Service" or "the Platform"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any provision herein, you must immediately discontinue use of the Service.
You must be at least 16 years of age if residing within the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, or at least 13 years of age if resident in the United States or any other global jurisdiction. We do not knowingly permit registration or collect personal data from minors under these statutory thresholds.
2. Food Software Nature & Absolute Medical Disclaimer
Unitrition functions strictly as a Descriptive Mirror of objective food chemistry and culinary composition. It analyzes macronutrients, micronutrients, relative glycemic kinetics, and NOVA industrial processing categories (1 through 4).
- No Doctor-Patient Relationship: Use of Unitrition does not establish any doctor-patient, dietitian-client, or healthcare provider relationship.
- Objective Carbohydrate Counting Converter: Bread Units (BU / ХЕ / Raciones) function strictly as objective mathematical conversion multipliers (10g, 12g, or 15g available carbohydrates). The platform is permanently barred from performing insulin dosing calculations, correction ratios (ICR, ISF), or therapeutic recommendations.
- No Weight-Loss Guarantees: In strict compliance with Paddle AUP Item #15, we provide zero weight-loss guarantees, rapid fat-loss promises, or body-sculpting claims.
3. Accounts & Client-Side Local Storage (IndexedDB)
Unitrition adopts a Local-First privacy architecture. You can use the platform in guest mode without creating an account. Your recipes, custom foods, and nutritional diary entries reside in your browser’s offline memory (IndexedDB).
If you register via Supabase to synchronize saved meals across devices, you remain solely responsible for safeguarding your login credentials. You can exercise your rights of access, complete JSON export, or total erasure at any time via our Data Rights Portal.
4. Intellectual Property & Prohibited Scraping
All proprietary software code, visual design, nutrient normalization algorithms, trademarks, interfaces, and curated datasets are the exclusive property of Unitrition and protected by international intellectual property laws.
You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, automatedly harvest, or commercially republish Unitrition’s normalized food data, biochemical calculation algorithms, or UI assets without prior written consent.
5. Pro Subscriptions & Paddle Merchant of Record
Unitrition Pro commercial subscription payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle") acting as our Merchant of Record. By purchasing a Pro subscription:
Software developer and algorithmic engine provider; responsible for functional maintenance, food database curation, and user support.
Legal merchant of record for payment transactions; handles PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant checkout, international VAT/sales tax remittance, and invoicing.
Charges on your bank statement will appear as PADDLE.NET * UNITRITION. You may review Paddle Buyer Terms and Conditions.
6. Cancellation & Statutory 14-Day Refund Rights
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle. You may cancel auto-renewal at any time with a single click:
- Autonomous 1-Click Cancellation: From your User Dashboard (Billing tab) or by entering your email at paddle.net.
- 14-Day Statutory Cooling-Off Period: If you reside within the EU or UK, you possess a statutory 14-day cooling-off period from the initial transaction to request a full refund without penalty.

7. Open Nutrition Sourcing & Warranty Disclaimer
Unitrition aggregates food chemistry records from established public databases (USDA FoodData Central, CIQUAL ANSES France, Open Food Facts). The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis.
Commercial food manufacturers frequently modify ingredient formulations without notice. Unitrition does not warrant that food records, mineral analyses, or glycemic load estimations will be completely error-free or uninterrupted.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Unitrition, its developers, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages arising from:
- Dietary, nutritional, or lifestyle choices executed by the user.
- Discrepancies, omissions, or errors originating from third-party nutrition databases.
- Temporary server downtime, maintenance windows, or client-side browser cache purges.
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable consumer software and e-commerce laws, without prejudice to mandatory statutory rights granted to consumers under the law of their habitual residence.
